How to Ask Someone if There Jewish

Okay, so to get back to that sometimes offensive question, "Excuse me are you Jewish?" (Is the one I'm referring to.) I understand why people go to the mall and street corners and ask people if they are Jewish. They want to spread the light. They want to help another Jew. Okay fine. Great. Fantastic.

"No I'm Catholic..."

One day I was sitting in my class at my desk being the good student that I am listeing to my teacher go on about yesterdays homework. Just as I was about to zone out of the hour my teacher said; "Okay class pick up your pencil and draw your neighborhood please."

Have you ever been asked, "Excuse me are you Jewish?" If you have I'm guessing that question either changed your life or greatly offended you. Your reply probably went somewhere along the lines;

"Why?"

"Of course I'm Jewish"

Well I mean my name is..."

"No leave me alone"
