Hi this is Day 5 of my thoughts on The Jewish Star Season 2 Contestants. Everyday I am taking 10 of the contestant and posting there YouTube video and my thoughts on there performance. I took the time to highlight the guys I liked in bold. I mentioned in some that I thought they were like any random cantor or any random wedding performance. To perform at a wedding or to be compared to a cantor is an honor.
Edan Hanouka: Got up and sung. Sounded like any other cantor.

Daniel Joshua Gerlich: The video made it a bit hard to tell if your voice messed up or if it was the video. Otherwise nice job.
Yoel Tevya Piller: Matisyahu watch out! I literally thought this guy was you!
Ilan Eckhardt: Interesting way to sing some songs. Sung well though. I would love to have you singing around a campfire.
Shevach Tamir: Love the snow, the suit, and how you were jamming with an electric guitar. At the parts were you are wearing the black jacket and standing you look like a rockstar. Good voice to. Hope you make more music.
Benny Gammerman: A pretty nice voice, sung only in Hebrew. The video was a bit blurry.
Raphael Benizri: The whole thing was in Hebrew, again had a nice voice, but sounded pretty much the same to every wedding type singer.
Zalman Attal: Sung in Hebrew, and had a very strong accent. He took the time to make a nice video which I enjoyed watching.
Avi Levin: Did not make a video, stood up and sung with very little emotion, if not none. I didn’t find his voice that good either, it might have been the video, but it sounded like he had a lot of trouble on the high notes.
Gershon Shapiro: A Jewish star veteran. Great beginning. Great video. Great song. Great dancing. Great voice.
i found it interesting that you didnt mention Mordechai Levovitz yet. Are you going is some kind of order?
ReplyDeletei watched all the AJS videos and I think that he has by far the clearest voice is probably the best at transitioning, and has very impressive range

Hi heres the "order" I have(there really is not one really) a few days before the audtions were due i began watching and writing my opinion on what i thought of the videos.
ReplyDeletethen a few days later i went back to watch and finish my work. I noticed that new people had been added next to singers i had already watched. so i had 2 go back in and add them. They are at the bottom of the word document saved on to my computer.
Michael Levovitz is one of those singers. He's actually about to be put up. He will be in Day 6. Feel free to check it out and tell me what you think there in the comments section.
